Can I visit the HAS?
Yes, you can visit the HAS amongst others during our Open Days. Information can be found on our website in the section Visit the HAS.

 

Programme related

Are the studyprogrammes part-time or full-time?
International Food & Agribusiness, Horticulture & Business Management and International Farm Management are fulltime programmes.

What language is this programme taught in?
International Food & Agribusiness, Horticulture & Business Management and International Farm Management are English-taught programmes.

Is this programme available online?
International Food & Agribusiness, Horticulture & Business Management and International Farm Management are not available online.

What is the duration of the programme?
International Food & Agribusiness, Horticulture & Business Management and International Farm Management are 4 year bachelor degree programmes.

When does the programme start?
International Food & Agribusiness, Horticulture & Business Management and International Farm Management start in the end of August / beginning of September every year.

Is there a starting date in February?
No there is not. The programme starts ones a year in the end of August / beginning of September.

Admission requirements

Where can I find information on which diploma I should have obtained in order to meet the entry requirements?
If you want to know how your secondary school diploma is evaluated in the Netherlands before you apply, check the information in the Nuffic Country Modules.

Are there different entry requirements per programme?
The admission requirement for all 4-year English taught Bachelor programmes is a secondary school diploma, equivalent to the Dutch HAVO diploma, with the final-year subject mathematics.
For the programme Horticulture & Business Management you also need to have had chemistry as a final-year subject.
The language requirement per programme is the same.

I think my mathematics and/or chemistry level is not high enough, can I still apply?
Yes, please apply for the programme. The International Office will take care of verifying your previous diplomas and they will check if the level of mathematics and/or chemistry level is sufficient to start your study at HAS. If your previous education is of the right level but your level of mathematics or chemistry is not you have the opportunity to take a deficiency test. When this is the case the International Office will inform you.

Is there an age restriction?
No there is not. You are welcome whatever your age is.

I do not have a DigiD, can I still apply via studielink?
Yes you can apply via studielink. On the website studielink you can choose the option on the right: “I do not live in the Netherlands”.  You will then be able to log in with a username and password.

Housing

What are the costs for a room in the Netherlands?
An average room in the Netherlands costs somewhere between €300 to €600 a month.

Does HAS has on-campus accommodation?
HAS does not have a campus, but does have a limited number of room available for first year international students in Den Bosch in apartments close to the university (within 2 km).

Does HAS arrange a room for me?
Under certain circumstances, HAS is able to help 1st year international students on both Dutch and English study programmes to find a room for the 1st year of their studies. Check the accommodation section on our website.


How can I apply for a room?
After registration for a study programme, you will receive an email with more information on how to apply for accommodation. This email will be send to you by the beginning of May. If you are accepted after the beginning of May, you will receive this information at the same time as your Admission Letter.

 

Books

How can I order my books?
Every year in June, the list of literature is being updated for the coming school year. You can find the list of literature on the pages for New students.
